SAGE Reference titles honored by Library Journal
Los Angeles, CA - SAGE Reference resources continue to receive recognition for excellence, most recently by Library Journal in their annual Best Reference feature. Library Journal has selected three key SAGE/CQ Press titles to be included in its 2013 list.
The annual Library Journal Best Reference list recognizes the top reference titles that have been reviewed in the publication during the previous year. The honored titles reflect diverse social science subjects, representing the varied list of significant reference resources available to researchers from SAGE and CQ Press. The SAGE titles that are being honored for the 2013 Library Journal Best Reference list include:
- Guide to the White House Staff – Shirley Anne Warshaw
“Our first presidents often relied on a single assistant, but today’s White House Staff numbers 450 people. Warshaw describes the foundations of the White House Staff and the operations of the modern White House Staff.” - Encyclopedia of Philosophy and the Social Sciences – Byron Kaldis
“This first-of-its-kind reference source explore[s] the relationship between philosophy and the social sciences. This title offers a whole different way of looking at things.” - Encyclopedia of Street Crime in America – Jeffrey Ian Ross
“Ross and an international group of social scientists discuss criminals from street gangs to those involved in organized crime and victims. Street crime trends in major cities are described in detail, and there is a helpful chronology and a detailed glossary.”
“SAGE is dedicated to providing the research community with first-class resources that publish leading information in a variety of library-friendly formats,” commented Stephen Barr, President, SAGE International. “From U.S. government to criminology to philosophy, we’re delighted that these social science titles have been honored by the prestigious Library Journal.”
