SAGE announces new agreement with Cam-eIFL supporting global access to electronic resources

London - SAGE today was delighted to announce an extended partnership with the eIFL Foundation scheme. The extended agreement offers access to SAGE Journals (SJ) online and SAGE Research Methods (SRM) to all 18 members of the foundations branch in Cambodia, Cam-eIFL.

The eIFL foundation supports the wide availability of electronic resources for library users in developing countries by helping to negotiate the creation of library consortia across multiple countries. As part of this agreement access to resources and research journals is offered to members for free or at a greatly reduced price. SAGE has been involved with the foundation for several years with already established agreements with eIFL in Palestinian Territories, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Macedonia. The added partnership with Cambodia goes further to highlight SAGE’s commitment to supporting global access to research and education.

Speaking of this newly established partnership, Rosalia Da Garcia, Executive Director - Consortia/Library Sales & Marketing SAGE Asia Pacific commented:

”We are delighted to be partnering with Cam-eIFL to support access to resources within the Cambodian region. Since our inception 50 years ago, it has been SAGE’s firm belief and publishing ethos that access to research creates healthy minds and healthy cultures. Part of this is ensuring equal access for all and being part of the eIFL scheme has enabled SAGE to ensure that students, researchers and policy makers in the poorest nations have access to the latest leading peer-reviewed research across disciplines.”

Wanna, Country Coordinator for Cam-eIFL and Senior Librarian at Royal University of Phnom Penh further commented:

“We are thrilled to be engaging with SAGE to make scholarly information available and accessible to our users in Cambodia. Information is power. I strongly believe that this access will greatly contribute and improve the learning and teaching environment and quality in Cambodia. On behalf of Cam-eIFL, members and users, I highly appreciate this partnership and many thanks to SAGE for the support that they have provided.”

SAGE is the one of the few publishers actively engaging with and supporting Cambodian Universities. This agreement will allow all 18 members of Cam-eIFL to apply for free access to both SJ and SRM. More details on the scheme can be found here.
