Established in 1970, The Review of Black Political Economy is the leading outlet for research that examines issues related to the economic status of African Americans, the African diaspora, and marginalized populations throughout the world. A journal of the National Economic Association, RBPE identifies and analyzes policy prescriptions designed to reduce racial, ethnic, and gender economic inequality.
RBPE welcomes contributions in all areas of social and economic inequality focused on African diaspora and marginalized populations. We are particularly interested in articles that utilize economics, political science, public policy, sociology, and other social science theory to identify or analyze public and private policies for their effectiveness in reducing economic inequality. The journal is a publication of the National Economic Association (NEA). Individual subscriptions can be obtained via membership to the NEA.
This journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The Review of Black Political Economy (RBPE) promotes critical inquiry in all areas of social and economic inequality focused on African diaspora and marginalized populations. As the journal of the National Economic Association, RBPE publishes scholarship that examines public and private policies that reduce economic and social inequality. We are actively seeking articles that utilize economics, political science, public policy, sociology, and other social science theory to examine public and private policies for their ability to reduce economic inequality. RBPE reflects an interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of policy prescriptions designed to reduce racial, ethnic, and gender economic inequality.
