SAGE Publishing and the British Orthodontic Society announce partnership
SAGE Publishing has partnered with the British Orthodontic Society to publish its flagship journal, the Journal of Orthodontics (JOO). A quarterly peer reviewed journal with a global circulation, the first issue of the JOO to be published by SAGE will be in March 2019.
On behalf of the British Orthodontic Society, the President, Professor Jonathan Sandler commented:
“We wanted a publisher with experience in the academic field and with a good record of developing Society journals to reach a wide audience. This is what we believe SAGE delivers. We are optimistic that under SAGE the Journal will develop the quantity and quality of research that is published.”
The Journal of Orthodontics aims to publish original research that furthers orthodontic care, either by strengthening existing research or by providing new analysis within the field. The Journal publishes a wide variety of subjects within orthodontics, welcoming reports on prospective research into different treatment methods and techniques, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and studies stimulating interest in new developments.
Editor-in-Chief, Professor Martyn Cobourne commented:
“Since it was established in 1974, the Journal of Orthodontics has strived to disseminate research to researchers and practitioners working in the field of orthodontics. Now that we are in a partnership with SAGE, we can work alongside a wider range of researchers and editors, reinforcing the important contribution that the Journal makes to orthodontic publishing.”
Tessa Picknett, SAGE, remarked:
“We are delighted to be partnering with the British Orthodontics Society and its editorial team. Journal of Orthodontics is an internationally recognized journal that has been publishing high-quality research for over 45 years, and is a welcome expansion to our portfolio in the field. We look forward to enhancing the global dissemination of its important contribution to the field of orthodontics to the Society’s membership of over 1,300 members, and orthodontists across the globe.”
