September 2008 | 248 pages | Corwin
This all-in-one guide shows teachers how to use digital photography successfully to assess and instruct young children. The author targets two important early childhood themes: using technology to enhance children's cognitive and social abilities, and fostering a sense of belonging in young learners who experience a special delight in seeing themselves and their environment in photos. “Linda Good guides the reader every step of the way, from showing how digital photography fits into developmentally appropriate practice, to how to use the technology to teach and assess students and increase family involvement. The book is a real contribution to an important facet of early childhood education in the new century.”

Dan Gartrell, Professor of Early Childhood Education
Bemidji State University

"The incredible collection of templates in this book makes it worth every penny. Why reinvent the wheel when the digital camera can make your classroom revolutionary? I don’t know how the author could have packed more pertinent information into a book.”

Carrie Carpenter, Coordinator
Deschutes Edge Charter School, Redmond, OR

"The suggestions offer many opportunities to build on and strengthen our efforts toward increasing early literacy skills and encouraging home-school connections and parent involvement. I highly recommend this book to any early educator who wants to add a new dimension to learning."

Sally Nault-Maurer, School Readiness Instructor
Anoka-Hennepin Independent School District 11, MN

This is a really useful book for those interested in using digital photography in the classroom. It is a practical book which offers ideas of how practitioners can use digital photography in their classrooms and explains how it can help to enhance young children's learning. It also suggests how to use photographs to communicate with parents and other professionals.
It teaches practical skills, for instance how to use photographs in a PowerPoint presentation. A very easy book to follow.
